Life in Prince Edward County can put particular pressure on a relationship. The seasonal economy means many couples run flat out through the summer and then face a long, quiet winter together. Others are navigating a move to the County, a second home and a divided life, retirement, or the isolation that can settle in once the visitors leave. All of it lands on the relationship.
Hope & Love offers couples therapy right in the County, in person or by secure video, to help partners reconnect and find their footing again.
What couples come in for
- Communication that has narrowed to logistics, or to the same argument
- Seasonal strain — long hours in season, then too much silence out of it
- Rebuilding trust after betrayal, secrecy, or addiction
- Big transitions — relocation, retirement, or a decision about the future
How the work is done
Matt is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps couples step out of blame-and-withdrawal cycles and understand what each partner is really reaching for. Sessions are balanced and non-blaming, so both people leave feeling heard.
In-person in the County or virtual year-round
Prince Edward County is one of Hope & Love’s two in-person locations, so you can meet together in the County rather than driving off-island. Secure video is available year-round — especially practical once the season turns — and reaches couples across the County, Belleville, and the wider Quinte region.
