Anxiety can be sharpened by the particular rhythm of County life. The intensity of the tourist season, the financial uncertainty of work that dries up in winter, and the isolation of a rural community once the roads quiet down can all keep the nervous system on edge. Add limited local services, and it is easy to feel there is nowhere close to turn.
Hope & Love offers focused anxiety therapy right in the County, in person or by secure video, grounded in evidence-based approaches and moving at your pace.
How anxiety shows up
- Generalized worry, overthinking, and trouble sleeping
- Panic attacks and the fear of them returning
- Social anxiety in a small community where everyone knows everyone
- Financial and seasonal stress that keeps you braced
- Anxiety connected to past trauma
How therapy helps
Matt draws on CBT, mindfulness-based techniques, IFS, and, where anxiety is rooted in trauma, EMDR. The aim is to understand what your anxiety is responding to, so it stops running the day.
In-person in the County or virtual year-round
Prince Edward County is one of Hope & Love’s two in-person locations, so you can meet in the County rather than driving off-island. Secure video is available year-round and reaches clients across the County, Belleville, and the Quinte region.
