This policy explains what information the Hope & Love Counselling website (hopeandlove.ca) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only.
Your therapy is confidential and separate from this website
The privacy of your therapy sessions is protected by professional and legal confidentiality standards for Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario, and is handled entirely outside this website. Booking and clinical records are managed through our practice-management platform (Jane), not through this site. This policy covers only the information handled by the website itself.
Information we collect
- Contact form. If you send a message through our contact form, we receive the name, email, and details you provide so we can respond. Form submissions are processed by our website host, Netlify.
- Booking. When you book a consultation, you are taken to our secure booking platform (Jane / JaneApp), which handles that information under its own privacy terms.
- Analytics & advertising. With your consent, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. This may include your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
Cookies we use
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We group them into three categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function and to remember your cookie choice. These are always active.
- Analytics — Google Analytics (GA4), used only with your consent, to understand how visitors use the site.
- Marketing — Google Ads, used only with your consent, to measure and improve our advertising.

Some information is handled by trusted third parties, each under their own privacy policies: Google (analytics and advertising), Netlify (website hosting and contact-form delivery), and Jane (booking and practice management). We do not sell your personal information.
